Berk Akand was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years and nine months in prison for the murder of university student Şule Çet in Ankara, who was thrown from the 20th floor of a plaza after being sexually assaulted. Akand's social media post at the beginning of September had caused widespread repercussions in the public eye.
In the statement made by the prosecutor's office, it was stated that Uludağ's posts had the potential to disrupt public order and that an investigation was launched for this reason.
