Justice march for 78 victims begins from Bolu to Ankara

Following the tragedy at the Bolu Grand Kartal Hotel that resulted in the loss of 78 lives, the grieving families are taking action to escalate their fight for justice. With the aim of accelerating the legal process and ensuring that everyone who was negligent is held accountable, the victimized families are starting the "Justice March for Our 78 Souls" from Bolu to Ankara tomorrow.

In a statement released by the families regarding the planned march, the following views were expressed:

"We lost 78 of our loved ones in Kartalkaya. As families who have lost our children, spouses, mothers, fathers, and siblings, we have not only been mourning since that day. We are fighting to ensure that the truth is revealed in all its aspects, that everyone who bears responsibility is held accountable before the law, and that justice is not left incomplete. We are taking this struggle a step further on Saturday, July 11. We will hold a press conference in front of the Bolu Courthouse at 10:30 AM, and at 11:00 AM, we will begin our march 'For Our 78 Souls' from Bolu to Ankara."

The march will begin with a press conference held in front of the Bolu Courthouse in the morning. Participants will first walk together to the Kartalkaya sign. Following the statement there, supporters and some family members, led by Oktay Akişli, will continue the march to Ankara. This march, which is expected to last approximately 8-9 days, is scheduled to conclude at Ankara Ulus Square on July 18 or 19, depending on road and weather conditions.

The victimized families are calling for public support throughout the march. They stated, "This march is a march for the pursuit of justice for the 78 souls we lost in Kartalkaya."

DEMAND FOR PROSECUTION OF THOSE RESPONSIBLE ANNOUNCED

The following remarks stood out in the families' statement: "Our demand is clear: No one who bears responsibility in the chain of negligence should be protected. Everyone who had authority, duty, a signature, or responsibility must be held accountable before the law. The long-awaited indictment against public officials, whose responsibility was clearly established in expert reports, should not be delayed any further."

While the victims stated that they would continue their struggle until justice is served, they added: "The fire in the hearts of the families will not subside until the 78 souls are fully accounted for. Every support shown at the starting and arrival points, as well as along the march route, will amplify the voice of our demand for justice. We invite the public to join our struggle for justice for the 78 souls we lost in Kartalkaya and to add their voices to ours. Because we know: Incomplete justice is not justice. Justice for our 78 souls."

Non-governmental organizations and supporters have also been invited to this march, through which the families aim to make their demands and struggle heard across the country.
