Justice Minister Gürlek announces: Legal action against 162 suspects in 'My Family is Safe' operation covering 15 provinces

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made a statement on his social media account regarding the operations conducted under the name "My Family is Safe." Gürlek stated that, under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Aydın, and Mersin, and in collaboration with Police and Gendarmerie units, operations were carried out centered in 5 provinces and covering 15 provinces in total.

According to Minister Gürlek, legal proceedings were initiated against 162 suspects, 9 associations, and 13 businesses during the operations. It was stated that the investigations cover allegations of mediating or providing premises for prostitution, businesses evaluated as providing an environment for these activities, the production and dissemination of obscene content, and activities related to exposing children to such content.

In his statement, Gürlek said that the efforts are being carried out in line with the "2026-2035 Family and Population Decade" vision set forth by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the "Presidential Circular No. 2026/4."

Touching upon the financial aspect of the investigations, Gürlek alleged that MASAK examinations revealed that high amounts of funds were transferred to some associations from public institutions abroad and foreign organizations. Gürlek noted that the connection between the source of these money transfers and the activities subject to the investigations is being examined.

Within the framework of the responsibility imposed on the state by our Constitution regarding the protection of the family and children, we will not tolerate any criminal organization, abuse network, or illegal activity that targets our children, our youth, and our families!

It was learned that Kaos GL was among the associations targeted within the scope of the operation. It was reported that police raids were conducted on the homes of the board members and auditors of the Kaos GL Association, and that more than 10 LGBTI+ activists were among those detained.
