Lien placed on Reha Muhtar's mansion in Sarıyer
After journalist and former television personality Reha Muhtar failed to pay legal fees stemming from a custody battle, a decision was made to place a lien on his mansion in Istanbul's Sarıyer district.

Following a custody case filed by actress Deniz Uğur Gülener, who parted ways with Reha Muhtar, legal proceedings were initiated after the 90,205 Turkish Lira and 10 kuruş in attorney fees that Muhtar was obligated to pay could not be collected on behalf of lawyer Feyza Altun. As part of the process conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian 12th Enforcement Office, an 'enforcement lien' was registered on the title deed for Reha Muhtar's share of the mansion registered in his name in Sarıyer.
The official letter sent by the enforcement office stated that instructions were given to the relevant institutions with the phrase, "Regarding the debt recorded, it is requested that the specified lien be added to the share of the real estate whose information is provided below, if it is registered in the name of the debtor." Thus, this decision, which was reported to the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, was entered into the title deed record, restricting the right of disposal over the property until the debt is paid.
According to information that previously came to the public's attention, it is known that Reha Muhtar put this mansion up for sale last year for approximately 20 million dollars (approximately 830 million TL). The mansion, which was purchased for 4.5 million dollars in 2000, had caused widespread debate on social media and in the public eye. It was alleged that the sales process was related to legal disputes between Muhtar and his ex-wife, Deniz Uğur, regarding property division and custody.
HISTORY OF THE CUSTODY CASE
Deniz Uğur Gülener received a ruling on October 31, 2025, in the case she initiated against Reha Muhtar for the custody of their twin children. The court granted custody of the couple's twins, P.D.M. and M.D.M., to their mother, Deniz Uğur. Additionally, it was ruled that Reha Muhtar could establish personal contact with the children on certain days of each month, during religious holidays, and on Father's Day between 10:00 and 18:00.
The court also decided that the attorney fees for Deniz Uğur Gülener's lawyer, Feyza Altun, should be paid by Reha Muhtar. However, as a result of the inability to collect the amount in question, enforcement proceedings were initiated, and a lien was placed on Muhtar's mansion in Sarıyer.
