Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced that the lawsuit they filed against the zoning plan prepared during the previous administration in the Dodurga neighborhood has resulted in an unfavorable outcome. Yavaş criticized this decision with the words, "Please watch how a city is massacred."
Yavaş emphasized that concrete towers will be erected on empty lands in Dodurga and that this is not a city plan for the future. He stated, "We did our best to stop this order. We objected, we filed a lawsuit, we said, 'This city belongs to all of us.' But we lost the case." Yavaş noted that these projects are not a life to be left to children, but rather projects of wreckage.
Stating that Dodurga once offered areas intertwined with nature where children could play, Yavaş expressed that now every empty plot will be filled with concrete towers. He also indicated that such rent-based zoning plans are not limited to Dodurga, and that he will show a similar situation in the Alacaatlı neighborhood tomorrow.
