Murat Çalık sent back to İzmir after being transferred to Istanbul

Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested as part of operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, fell ill in prison and was taken to the hospital.

Çalık, who has a history of leukemia and lymphoma, was sent back to prison after undergoing surgery for suspected lymphoma. However, he fell ill again there and underwent an angiography.

Despite his health condition being assessed as 'risky,' Çalık was referred to the Council of Forensic Medicine.

Brought to the Council of Forensic Medicine in the morning, Çalık was sent to Metris Prison after his procedures were completed. However, he did not stay there for long and was transferred to İzmir Buca Prison.

CHP member Çağla Biçer announced that Çalık was transferred from the Council of Forensic Medicine to Metris Prison, and from there to İzmir Buca Prison.
