Mustafa Sandal issues statement following asset freeze order on his wife

Singer Mustafa Sandal made a statement on his social media account after it was learned that an asset freeze order had been applied to 42 people, including his wife Melis Sandal, as part of a fund investigation.

Sandal stated that he had no connection to any fund transaction or organization and expressed that he shares the public's sensitivity regarding the matter.

Dear friends; My conscience is clear! I have never had any situation involving buying or selling any funds or being involved in such an organization. I respectfully share our people's sensitivity on this issue and feel the same way. For 32 years, my only income has been music, thanks to your appreciation. My wife and her lawyer have made the necessary statement regarding the matter.

Şahin Baran, the lawyer for Melis Sandal and her father Cihan Sütşurup, also issued a written statement on the matter. The statement argued that the allegations that the clients withdrew 11 billion TL from the liquidated funds do not reflect the truth.

In the lawyer's statement, it was claimed that the figure in question was not based on any official document or verified data, and it was noted that transactions made in capital markets are recorded in bank and brokerage firm records.

The statement also expressed that the clients were unable to access their investments due to the closure of the funds, and therefore they were also experiencing grievances. It was noted that they are ready to provide information and documents to the investigations and inquiries of the authorized authorities.
