One person killed in armed attack involving father and son in Edirne

In the Yenikarpuzlu town of Edirne's İpsala district, an incident occurred around noon when E.Ö. and his son A.Ö. arrived at a coffeehouse where Mert Atalay, with whom they allegedly had a feud, was present. The father, E.Ö., opened fire on Atalay with a shotgun, while his son, A.Ö., fired with a handgun.

Gendarmerie and medical teams arriving at the scene determined that Mert Atalay had died on the spot. Following the investigation, Atalay's body was taken to the morgue of İpsala State Hospital.

E.Ö. and A.Ö., who fled after the attack, were apprehended and taken into custody by gendarmerie teams shortly thereafter. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
