Sebahattin (Muzaffer) Şirin, the leader of the Galatasaray fan group ultrAslan, who was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was referred to the courthouse following his procedures at the police station.
Şirin, who was detained in an investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation into Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes due to his social media posts, was brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after a health check.
It was noted that Şirin made a "victory" sign to members of the press at the courthouse entrance and said, "Freedom for Mr. Öcalan."
It was stated that proceedings were initiated against Şirin within the scope of the investigation on charges of prohibited actions in sports areas and crimes related to sports competitions regulated under Articles 14 and 15 of Law No. 6222, as well as "using or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances," "publicly disseminating misleading information," and "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes."
