While the fraud case involving Seçil Erzan continues to dominate Turkey's agenda, Kuyumcukent has been shaken by a new fraud allegation. According to the petition obtained by 12punto.com.tr, Lawyer Ümit Karadağ, who applied to the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, filed a complaint alleging that his client, businessman Y.E., who works in the gold industry, was defrauded by a refining firm.

THEY TOOK THE GOLD DUST

In the details of the complaint petition, the businessman Y.E. stated that he had contracted with a refining firm—authorized by individuals named Ö.Y., M.B., E.Ü., and K.E.—to recycle particles that mix into the air, water, or dust during the gold processing at his workshop. The refiners, who came to the businessman's workshop two weeks ago, left after completing the necessary work.

WORTH 6 MILLION

According to the allegations, the refining firm, which collected the particles, was supposed to convert them into a gold mass and return it to the company. However, they did not perform this process. Following this, they first stalled the businessman Y.E. Then, it is alleged that they threatened him. The businessman Y.E. was defrauded of nearly 3 kilograms of gold, worth 6 million liras, in this transaction.

REQUEST FOR ASSET FREEZE

In the complaint petition filed by the lawyer of the businessman Y.E., who was allegedly defrauded and threatened, it was requested that “appropriate security measures be taken regarding the suspect company to prevent further victimization, and that all accounts and assets of the other suspects be frozen to prevent them from hiding the money and gold obtained through the crime.”

COMPLAINTS CAME ONE AFTER ANOTHER

Following the businessman's complaint, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation. It is stated that after this complaint, 2 more workshop owners went to the public prosecutor's office to file complaints against the same firm. It is alleged that the number of complaints will increase.

THREATENED WITH MASAK AND FINANCIAL POLICE

It is also alleged that a female suspect named M.B. threatened Y.E. during a dinner invitation, saying, "You were going to scam us? One phone call from me is enough to have you picked up," while another woman named Ö.U. showed him a contact saved as 'MASAK' on her phone and threatened him by saying, "Where did you earn all this money from? MASAK will take everything you have, do you see? It takes just one button for me to report you to MASAK; if I report you to the Organized and Financial Crimes Bureau, you will be ruined."
