Statement from Minister Tunç on Yunus Emre Göçer: New footage of the accident has emerged

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç answered questions from journalists. Tunç made a statement regarding the accident involving the son of the Somali President, which resulted in the death of motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer. 

Minister Tunç's statements are as follows:

THE ACCIDENT IN WHICH YUNUS EMRE GÖÇER DIED

"New footage has emerged. This footage has been sent to the Council of Forensic Medicine for a new report to be prepared. We are awaiting an additional report from the Council of Forensic Medicine. I believe that the indictment process will be completed quickly. Our public prosecutor's office will complete the indictment process rapidly as soon as the fault status is determined. 

This issue continues to be highly speculated upon. Let no one have any doubt about this. Protecting the rights and laws of our citizens is very important to us. That is why I want to express that we have been sensitive to this issue from the very beginning. We will follow and protect the rights and laws of our citizens.

MEDIATION IN RENTAL DISPUTES

With the temporary article added to the Code of Obligations regarding rent, it was limited to 25 percent. It has been extended for another year. The mediation system began on September 1. We see that this is continuing successfully. A total of 76 thousand applications were made to mediators. 33 thousand of them were concluded positively. This is a situation that serves social peace. The workload of the judiciary has also decreased. We see that the mediation system also contributes to the decrease in rental prices.

JUDICIAL PACKAGE

Responding to the question, "Will there be a general amnesty for those imprisoned in the 8th judicial package?", Minister Tunç stated that such a matter is not on the agenda.
