Success ranking threshold for law school admissions changed

The 8th Chamber of the Council of State has suspended the regulation that set the success ranking threshold for admission to law schools at 100,000, effective from the 2025-YKS onwards. Following this decision, Council of Higher Education (YÖK) President Erol Özvar announced in a statement on social media that the new threshold has been set at 125,000.

Özvar stated that candidates will be able to make their law school preferences according to this new threshold ranking. He also noted that the necessary updates in the ÖSYM system are ongoing and that the preference system will be opened during the day. Reminding that the preference process will continue until August 13, Özvar emphasized that candidates who have already made their choices can revise their lists and that no grievances will be experienced during this process. Wishing success to all candidates, Özvar expressed his hope that the preferences would be beneficial.
