Turgay Tamer, a former Forensic Medicine Institute employee who was released after being detained as part of the reopened investigation into the death of Kaşif Kozinoğlu, has been found dead in his home in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul.
According to the information provided, Tamer's wife, who had been abroad for a few days, found Tamer unresponsive in the living room upon returning home. Health and security teams were dispatched to the address following the report.
It was stated that no suspicious circumstances were encountered during the initial examination at the house. Tamer's body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. The cause of death for Tamer, who was known to be a diabetic, will be clarified following an autopsy.
INVESTIGATION FILE HAD BEEN REOPENED
Kaşif Kozinoğlu fell ill at the Silivri No. 1 L-Type Closed Penal Execution Institution on November 12, 2011, and passed away while being transported to the hospital. The file regarding Kozinoğlu's death was brought back to the agenda to determine the exact cause of death and whether there was any interference by third parties.
In this context, an exhumation was performed, and Turgay Tamer was detained by gendarmerie teams on September 10 and released 4 days later.
It was stated that the screenwriters of the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi, Raci Şaşmaz, Bahadır Özdener, and Cüneyt Aysan, gave statements as "persons with knowledge" in the investigation, and it was decided to examine the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu.
Within the scope of the file, some members of the judiciary who were on duty at the time of the incident and Kozinoğlu's cellmates were also detained; arrest and house arrest decisions were issued for some suspects.
