Allegations regarding the assets of former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek and his family have returned to the agenda with a new article by journalist Murat Ağırel. Ağırel pointed to two separate real estate transactions in Turkey and Germany, stating that the two-day time difference between the transactions should be investigated.
According to Ağırel, a 6.5 million euro "Grundschuld" record was created on November 24, 2025, in favor of Fatih Çil on a property in Düsseldorf belonging to HAMAG GmbH, which is said to be linked to the Gökçek family. This record, which means a right to collateral in the German system, is mostly referred to as a mortgage in Turkish.
Two days after this transaction, on November 26, 2025, it was alleged that a 5,386-square-meter property in Turkey belonging to 01 HLY Yapı was sold to Asuman Çil. Ağırel wrote that Fatih Çil is a relative, and likely the spouse, of Asuman Çil, who purchased the property in Turkey.
THE COURSE OF COMPANIES AND PROPERTIES
According to the information in the article, the process began with AC Sportif, founded in 2015 by Cenk Karayel, the brother-in-law of Ahmet Gökçek. It was stated that the company purchased a 5,386-square-meter property in Ankara in 2017, that all of its shares were transferred to Hülya Gökçek in 2019, and that the property was incorporated into 01 HLY Yapı at the end of 2022.
Ağırel reported that HAMAG GmbH in Germany was also established with a power of attorney granted by Hülya Gökçek. At the center of the allegations is the fact that the collateral record in Germany and the property sale in Turkey took place two days apart through the same family and company connections.
Now let's write the two dates side by side: November 24, 2025: A 6.5 million euro collateral right is registered in favor of Fatih Çil on HAMAG's property in Germany. November 26, 2025: A 5,386-square-meter property belonging to 01 HLY Yapı in Turkey is sold to Asuman Çil. There are only two days in between.
While emphasizing that it should be investigated whether there is a connection between the transactions in question, Ağırel also noted that the "Grundschuld" record in Germany does not by itself prove that 6.5 million euros were paid to HAMAG. He stated that whether this record is based on a real debt could be revealed through bank records and documents showing the debt relationship.
The article also included the detail that it is noteworthy that Melih Gökçek was called to testify as part of the investigation extending to the Gökçek family, even though the file concerns Ahmet and Hülya Gökçek. Melih Gökçek is expected to testify to the prosecutor's office today.
