Two more lieutenants to be dismissed for insulting Hulusi Akar and Erbakan

Dismissals from the TSK continue to be on the agenda. Müyesser Yıldız wrote about the current state of the disputes that began at the Tuzla Infantry School and the new dismissals. Yıldız's article is as follows:

Following the dismissal of 7 lieutenants from the TSK who were involved in the events that took place at the Tuzla Infantry School during the November 10 Atatürk Commemoration Ceremony, when a lieutenant alleged to be a member of a religious sect refused to wear an Atatürk photograph on his lapel, the dismissal of two more lieutenants has come to the agenda. It has been learned that these lieutenants have also been referred to the High Disciplinary Board on allegations of insulting former Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and the late former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan.

As a result of the administrative investigation conducted regarding the events of November 10, the Land Forces Command High Disciplinary Board decided to dismiss from the TSK the two lieutenants identified as being members of a religious sect and supporting them, as well as 4 lieutenants who reacted to them, and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler approved this decision in recent days.

While this initial investigation was ongoing, the investigation was expanded with a petition sent to the Land Forces Command. Upon the order of the Land Forces Command on January 25, the EDOK investigation committee examined the previously unreviewed WhatsApp correspondence of the lieutenants and prepared two new reports on February 12 and 13.

In the first of these reports, it was determined that Infantry Lieutenant Y. Ç. had made a post on the Land Military Academy 174th term graduates' WhatsApp group on an unspecified date stating, “Hulusi f...ed it up,” and it was reported that “it was evaluated that it was understood that he was referring to former Minister of National Defense Mr. Hulusi Akar with this statement,” and it was decided to refer Y. Ç. to the High Disciplinary Board for dismissal from the TSK. To this end, Y. Ç. was asked to submit his defense within 8 days the day before yesterday.

In the second report, it was reported that Infantry Lieutenant S. Ç. had insulted the late Necmettin Erbakan's mother and wife on an unspecified date in the Infantry School 1st Company WhatsApp group, and that he had also made a post on the Land Military Academy 174th term graduates' WhatsApp group on November 10, 2023, stating, “Talked to the company commander how many times. Talked to the dean's assistants. Didn't do a s... f...ers,” and for these reasons, it was decided to refer him to the High Disciplinary Board for dismissal from the TSK, and as of the day before yesterday, S. Ç. was also asked for his defense.

HAS THE FIGHT SPREAD TO ISPARTA?

On the other hand, it is being discussed that this tension at the Tuzla Infantry School has spread to Isparta.

According to allegations, the following incident occurred three days ago among lieutenants sent from the Tuzla Infantry School to the Isparta Mountain Commando School for training:

The lieutenants, who completed their driving training in Burdur, boarded vehicles to return to Isparta. One of the lieutenants was cleaning his boot while resting his left foot on his right knee in his seat, when two lieutenants sitting in front moved to the back. One of them grabbed the lieutenant cleaning his boot by the boot and shoved him aside, saying, “Hey, put your foot down.” When that lieutenant stood up and reacted by saying, “What are you doing?” the lieutenant who grabbed him by the collar threatened him, saying, “We will see each other. We will fight when we get there. You'll see.” The same lieutenant grabbed one of the lieutenants who wanted to intervene by his epaulet, tearing off his button, and also argued with a visiting foreign lieutenant.

The events only ended when a first lieutenant came to the vehicle, intervened, and had the lieutenants who were parties to the dispute board separate vehicles.

The incident was recorded in a report prepared on the same day by the first lieutenant who boarded the vehicle and the other first lieutenant as follows:

“On February 13, 2024, around 14:30, while boarding vehicles for the return after driver training at the Burdur Armored Vehicle Training Regiment, a dispute and scuffle were observed between Infantry Lieutenant H. T. Ü., Infantry Lieutenant G. E., and Infantry Lieutenant M. A. Y., and the incident was immediately intervened in by First Lieutenant M. E. U., the parties were separated, and the incident ended by having them board two different vehicles.”

It is alleged that the lieutenant who caused the incident in the vehicle was one of the names who testified in favor of the lieutenants called “members of a religious sect” during the events at the Tuzla Infantry School.
