Diyarbakır's 'liver kebab', which is among the city's products with geographical indication registration, attracted the interest of both domestic and foreign tourists visiting the city.
24 tons of liver kebab were consumed during the 3 days of Eid al-Fitr.
Stating that there were no supply issues for the kebab, which is sold for 300 liras per portion, the President of the Diyarbakır Chamber of Restaurateurs, Kebab Makers, and Confectioners (DİLTO), Haşim Elkaan, noted that 13 tons were consumed during the same period last year, saying, "Due to the impact of the earthquake we experienced on February 6 last year on our nation, the average daily liver consumption during last year's Eid al-Fitr was around 4 tons.
However, this year it has been incredible. During this Eid al-Fitr, there was no room left, as if you couldn't drop a needle to the ground. Therefore, daily consumption reached an average of 7-8 tons. We consumed 24 tons in 3 days," he stated.
