Access ban on Mükremin Gezgin's account

The Ministry of Family and Social Services had filed a criminal complaint against social media influencer Mükremin Gezgin for sharing footage in which he asked young boys, "I am a woman, aren't I?" The Ministry had applied to the judiciary, stating that these posts contained "shameless acts" and "obscenity."

A public lawsuit was filed against the influencer on charges of "mediating the dissemination of obscene publications," and a prison sentence of up to 3 years was requested for Mükremin Gezgin.

In his defense, Gezgin denied the accusations, stating, "I accept the opinion. I feel like a woman, and I feel good when I say this. In the footage and in the entire video, I say 'I am a woman.' There is no video that was specifically shot on the day of the incident. The clothes I am wearing are the clothes I always wear. I request my acquittal."

As a result of the trial, the court had issued an acquittal for Mükremin Gezgin. However, a new development occurred following the acquittal decision. An access ban was imposed on the influencer's Instagram account from Turkey.

While Mükremin Gezgin's account can be viewed from abroad, users in Turkey cannot see the account due to the access ban.
