Upon seeing Kılıçdaroğlu's comment regarding the clashes that began following Hamas's attack on Israel, the actor could not hold back. Kılıçdaroğlu had stated, “Palestine has long been a country seeking its rights. We are always by the side of the Palestinian people. We never want there to be war.”

Erdem Baş, who left Turkey to live in America, saw this comment and, making a reference to the CHP's post-election period, said, “I am very sad for the Palestinian people right now; the king was never on the winning side.”
