Actor Şener Kökkaya has passed away
Theater artist Şener Kökkaya, who appeared in many TV series and films, has passed away.

The sad news of the passing of 82-year-old Şener Kökkaya was announced by his colleague Zafer Algöz. In a statement on his social media account, Zafer Algöz said, "Our dear actor friend Şener Kökkaya has also bid farewell. May God have mercy on him, our condolences to us all."
WHO IS ŞENER KÖKKAYA?
Starting his acting career in 1957 with amateur theater in Eskişehir, Şener Kökkaya took part in many plays at the Eskişehir Chamber Theater and the Eskişehir Municipal City Theater. He worked as a guest actor at the State Theaters.
In 1966, he became a founder and actor of the Pendik Theater. He joined the Ankara Art Theater a year later, where he served as an actor and stage manager until 1982.
In the 1970s, he became widely known for the program "5 Minutes," which aired on TRT before the news hour and which he co-hosted with Savaş Yurttaş. He shared the stage with Erol Demiröz, Savaş Yurttaş, Selçuk Uluergüven, and Akrep Nalan in the musical middle play titled Hamdi Ortadirek.
The artist, who worked as a director and actor at the Ankara Art House for three years, moved to İzmir in 1986 for health reasons and founded the İzmir Art Theater.
The artist, who also wrote poetry and play scripts, did not limit his acting to theater; he also stepped in front of the camera to take roles in cinema and TV series.
Şener Kökkaya, who taught acting for 2 years at the Denizli Municipality Conservatory, worked at the Adana State Theater after his time at the Ankara Ekin Theater. The actor had also appeared in films such as 'Organize İşler', 'Vizontele', and 'Vizontele Tuuba'.
