Graduating from the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory Theater Department in 1982 and marrying her colleague Uğur Yücel a year later, Derya Alabora welcomed their son, whom they named Can, in 1985.

Appearing as a guest on Sibel Arna's program broadcast on YouTube, the veteran artist spoke about Uğur Yücel, who has appeared in significant productions as an actor and director such as 'Arabesk', 'Muhsin Bey', 'The Bandit' (Eşkıya), 'İkinci Bahar', 'Dragon Trap' (Ejder Kapanı) and 'Toss-Up' (Yazı Tura).

"When I fall in love, it's a disaster. That's in the past, but I am a woman of love; I mean, I love being in love," said Alabora, who became a trending topic with her answer to the question, "How many years were you married to Uğur Yücel?"

'OUR CONVERSATION CONTINUES'

"We were married for 30 years. Actually, we are still married. We are just no longer together," the 64-year-old actress stated, and she also answered the host's follow-up question, "Why can't you get divorced?":

"I don't know. We just couldn't get divorced. I guess getting married or divorced doesn't mean anything to us anymore. We already live separately, but our friendship and our conversations continue. We are a family; that doesn't matter. If something happens to either of us, we would be very upset. We are there for each other whenever we are in a bind. We can even tell the state of each other's health just from the tone of our voices..."
