In the poetry recitals where İş Sanat brings together literature and music, Ahmet Muhip Dıranas's unforgettable poems will meet literature enthusiasts on Monday evening, January 22, at 20:30 with the program "Aşklar Uçup Gitmiş Olmalı Bir Yazla" (Loves Must Have Flown Away With A Summer).

The beloved poems of Ahmet Muhip Dıranas, who described the individual's states in the face of the universe and nature with a lyrical language, will be recited by Tilbe Saran, Metin Belgin, Bülent Emin Yarar and Hakan Gerçek.
The texts of the recital, which will be staged again at the İş Towers Hall after a 22-year hiatus, were arranged by Atilla Birkiye, while Mehmet Birkiye directed the stage production.
The recital, with musical direction and piano accompaniment by Serdar Yalçın, invites literature enthusiasts to rediscover the poet's deep and impressive world.
WHO IS AHMET MUHİP DIRANAS?
Ahmet Muhip Dıranas was born in 1909. He is among the most powerful poets and writers of Turkish literature. During the period when he was deeply involved with literature, he was influenced by Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar and Ahmet Haşim. The works he produced are read by many people in our country and have also been translated into many world languages.
Ahmet Muhip Dıranas lived in the Erfelek district of Sinop province. The author, who began his education in this district, came to Ankara during his middle school years. Graduating from Ankara Boys' High School in 1929, the author began working at the Hakimiyet-i Milliye newspaper. He entered the Ankara University Faculty of Law for his university education.
During his education there, while in his second year, he went to Istanbul as an official at the Academy of Fine Arts. For this reason, his law education remained incomplete. He completed his higher education in the Department of Philosophy at the Istanbul University Faculty of Letters. After his education there, he was appointed to high-level positions in state theaters.
Returning to Ankara in 1939, Ahmet Muhip Dıranas managed art publications and community centers (halkevleri). The poems he wrote during this period were published in various magazines. Deciding to enter politics during this period, Dıranas became a parliamentary candidate but was not elected. Ahmet Muhip Dıranas, who passed away in Ankara on June 21, 1980, was laid to rest in Sinop in accordance with his will.
