The Aleyna Tilki concert, which was scheduled to take place as part of liberation celebrations in the Alaşehir district of Manisa, has been postponed to a later date due to heavy rain and electrical malfunctions.
Thousands of people had gathered hours in advance at the stage set up in Alaşehir Republic and Democracy Square for the concert, but rain began to pour just as Aleyna Tilki was announced. The artist, who briefly appeared on stage, was brought back down due to the risk of electrical leakage.
The crowd filling the square did not leave during the approximately half-hour rainfall. However, as electronic equipment was affected by the rain, the technical team cancelled the concert citing safety concerns.
It was announced via loudspeakers that the concert had been postponed to a later date. While some audience members protested the decision, most citizens stated that they found the decision taken for safety reasons to be appropriate.
