Angelina Jolie calls for aid for civilians in Gaza

Angelina Jolie has issued a call for aid for civilians in Gaza.

In a statement on her social media account, the artist expressed that, like everyone else in the world, she is deeply hurt and angry due to the attacks launched on the morning of October 7 under the name "Al-Aqsa Flood," stating: "What happened in Israel is an act of terror. But that cannot justify the loss of innocent lives in the bombing of a civilian population in Gaza that has nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation, and not even the basic human right to cross a border to seek refuge."

In her post, where she noted that she has been working with refugees and displaced people for 20 years, Jolie wrote the following:

"There are more than 2 million people (half of them children) living in Gaza, who have been living under a severe blockade for nearly 20 years, in addition to decades of displacement and statelessness. The few aid trucks that get in are a fraction of what is needed, and the bombings are causing desperate new humanitarian needs every day. The denial of fuel and water aid is collectively punishing a population. Humanity demands an immediate ceasefire. The lives of Palestinians and Israelis—and the lives of all people globally—are equally important. Everything that can prevent civilian casualties and save lives must be done. Like many others, I have donated to medical relief efforts. I have chosen to support the work of Doctors Without Borders and have been following their reports closely."
