Applications for the 10th Leyla Gencer Voice Competition have begun
Applications for the '10th Leyla Gencer Voice Competition,' organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), Borusan Sanat, and the La Scala Theatre Academy, have opened.

According to the statement made by İKSV, applications for the competition will remain open until May 3.
The preliminary rounds of the competition, which will be chaired by Stephane Lissner, will take place in May and June, while the final series will be held in Istanbul from September 22 to 27.
The jury for this year's 10th Leyla Gencer Voice Competition also includes La Scala Theatre Casting Director Alessandro Galoppini, Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artists Programme Artistic Director David Gowland, tenor and Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Artistic Director Badri Maysuradze, and Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra Artistic Director and permanent conductor Carlo Tenan.
PRELIMINARY ROUND RESULTS TO BE ANNOUNCED ON JULY 1
In the competition, which is held in honor of Leyla Gencer and was attended by the artist herself until her passing in 2008, candidates will be able to choose to participate in the preliminary round by uploading video recordings online during the application process instead of attending live auditions. The preliminary round results will be announced on the competition's website on July 1.
PRIZES ANNOUNCED
Open to singers of all voice types between the ages of 18 and 32, the competition will award 7,500 Euros to the first-place winner, 4,000 Euros to the second, and 2,500 Euros to the third.
The winner of the 1,500 Euro Leyla Gencer Public Award will be determined by audience votes during the final. A three-month training scholarship from the La Scala Theatre Academy and the La Scala Theatre Academy Special Award will also be presented at the competition.
Within the scope of the competition, the recipient of the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra Special Award will earn the right to perform a concert accompanied by the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra.
The finalist who receives the Royal Opera House Jette Parker Young Artists Programme Special Award will be entitled to receive at least five training sessions over the course of one week at the Royal Opera House.
With the Special Awards from the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet, one finalist each will also be cast in a production at these opera houses.
