Bülent Ersoy's statement on Zeki Müren: 'I entered the morgue after he died, there were cotton balls in his beard'

Famous artist Bülent Ersoy, in a statement she made last week, expressed that the late Zeki Müren was a ruthless and jealous person, and recounted her experiences with the following words:

"The late Zeki Müren was a very important star. In terms of art and show business, he was a true showman. He did not take lessons from very important masters. Zeki Müren never liked Safiye Ayla and would call her 'tacky, gypsy, she is not a master or anything'."

Following the remarks that put her on the public agenda, Ersoy made new statements.

'I ASKED FOR HIS BLESSING'

The famous artist said, "I saw him in the morgue after he died. His beard had grown, there were cotton balls in his beard. Although it would have been better if they had cleaned him nicely with an oil. I touched his two cheeks and said, 'grant me your blessing'. But I never showed him any disrespect..."

Bülent Ersoy had said the following about Zeki Müren last week:

"He gave his old television to his employees and then complained about them, saying 'You stole this from me'. My jewelry had also been stolen. That is why we met at the police station. When I heard moaning sounds coming from a room inside, I asked what was happening.

They had put all his employees through the bastinado. Zeki Müren was a ruthless person. No one knows this, but he died of jealousy toward me. He normally used 36 pills, but he did not take his medication at all when he died. He had a heart attack there and died.

Zeki Müren made the clarinetist Şükrü Tunar, who was running out of breath, play songs one after another. The man died of a heart spasm at that concert. In Turkish art music, a 'taksim' (improvisation) is not performed after a song. The man died there like that. Zeki Müren was a jealous and vindictive person."
