Sonja Semyonova, a 45-year-old woman living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, said that she is in a relationship with an oak tree and that no one has ever made her feel this happy before.

'I STARTED TO FEEL SAFE'

Stating that she frequently went for walks in the park during the coronavirus pandemic, Semyonova said, "All winter long, I was walking on a path by the tree five days a week. I noticed a connection with the tree. I was leaning against it. I started to feel safe having something so big and so old supporting my back."

Noting that she does not engage in any physical acts with the tree, Sonja emphasized that the feelings she receives from nature are not the same as human sexuality.

'WATCHING THE SEASONS CHANGE...'

Stating that ecosexuality is different from physical sexuality, Semyonova said, "Watching the seasons change is an erotic act for me. There are similarities between sex with people and the eroticism that ecosexuals feel with nature, but they are not the same."
