In a statement released by Carl Weathers' family, it was stated: "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers. He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Carl lived an extraordinary life, he was an exceptional human being.
Through his contributions to film, television, the arts, and sports, he left an indelible mark and was recognized worldwide across generations.
He was a much-loved brother, father, grandfather, partner, and friend," the statement read.
