Çeşme Mayor Lal Denizli reacts to the plan to euthanize stray animals: She sat a dog in her official chair

While the collection of stray dogs and sending them to shelters is on the agenda, Çeşme Mayor Lal Denizli expressed her reaction by sitting a dog in her official chair.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that the draft article regarding the killing of stray dogs through euthanasia will be 'discussed in Parliament'.

Çeşme Mayor Lal Denizli announced that she is against the legislative proposal by AK Party officials that envisions the euthanasia of stray dogs on the grounds that they pose a 'life-threatening danger'.

'MADE IT MORE JOYFUL'

Denizli sat a dog in her official chair and shared those moments on her social media account.

Denizli used the following expressions in her post:

"Today at the municipality, we hosted our guests together with Moro, one of my children. We had a pleasant and productive day with our guests. Being with my dog made our work even more joyful. It was a great happiness to host our fellow citizens together with him!"

WHEN WILL THE STRAY ANIMALS LAW BE ENACTED?

The draft law regarding the euthanasia of stray dogs has not yet been accepted in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

The draft law has been submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament.
