Ceyda Düvenci experiences emotional moments while hosting her daughter on her show! 'I won't cry'

Ceyda Düvenci hosted her 13-year-old daughter, Melisa Akgün, who has cerebral palsy and was born from her marriage to Engin Akgün, on the October 29 special episode of her show 'Bambaşka Sohbetler'.

Düvenci opened the program by saying, "I am experiencing the proudest moment of my life," to which Melisa replied, "Me too... I mean, not to be rude, but I used to watch this place a lot. I watch the broadcasts, I follow them. It was truly a great honor for me to see this place up close and to come here. I feel very good."

When asked by her mother, "What does the Republic mean to you?", Melisa answered, "A friend of mine in our choir said this last year; the Republic has been the herald of an entirely new life with the security of the future it created in ideas and souls."

"I am not a musician, but I have a passion for music. I want to be a musician when I grow up," said Melisa Akgün, describing where she envisions herself by adding, "Either on stage or while writing lyrics... But I definitely want to work with music; that is my biggest dream. Holding onto music saves me when I am very angry, when I am scared, when I am happy, and when I am sad. Writing has allowed me to control my emotions, and it still does."

"I WON'T CRY"

At the end of the program, Ceyda Düvenci said to her daughter, "My dear daughter, my Melisa, my honey, thank you so much for being a guest on my show," and Melisa responded, "Thank you. I was dreaming of this before, and I'm not saying this just because I'm your daughter. I was truly watching this valuable program before, even without you knowing, and being here is a special honor for me. Thank you for opening this program with me. I'm so glad you are my mother, I love you very much."

With tears in her eyes at that moment, Ceyda Düvenci said, "I won't cry," adding, "Tears of pride flow like a flood. Children grow up, sit across from you, and tell you about their dreams. And you listen. One day, they become the owner of your program. Thank God... I am glad to be a woman of the Republic, I am glad I have my children."
