Confession years later from Ozan Güven, who received a 2-year, 3-month prison sentence

Actor Ozan Güven, who was sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison for assaulting his former girlfriend Deniz Bulutsuz in 2020, was a guest on the program 'Biz Bize' broadcast on A Para.

Güven made statements regarding the trial process that followed the incident of violence.

Stating that his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2021, Güven said that his mother knew him very well and struggled to accept the process that took place.

Suggesting that his mother's illness might be linked to the process he himself went through, Güven said, "My mother could not digest the feeling that I was being treated unfairly. She could not comprehend the court's verdict, and it progressed."

"PERHAPS SHE DEVELOPED ALZHEIMER'S TO FORGET THESE"

Stating that his mother's illness progressed over time, Güven drew a connection between the process he experienced and his mother's Alzheimer's disease.

The actor used the expression, "Perhaps she developed Alzheimer's to forget what I went through."

Güven added that the human brain is quite complex and that it is not possible to make a definitive assessment regarding the cause of the disease's onset.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Following the incident between Ozan Güven and Deniz Bulutsuz on June 13, 2020, both parties filed complaints against each other. As a result of the trial, which lasted approximately 5 years, Güven was sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of intentional injury, while he was acquitted of the charges of insult and deprivation of liberty. Bulutsuz was also acquitted in the simple assault case filed against her.

In October 2025, the appellate court found the local court's decision to be in accordance with the law and rejected the appeals, finalizing the 2-year, 3-month prison sentence for Güven.
