Criticism of Ali Koç from Fazıl Say: 'With that money...'

World-renowned pianist Fazıl Say has criticized Ali Koç, who was re-elected as president of Fenerbahçe. Stating that Koç has failed to achieve any concrete success despite the money he has spent, Say said, "With that money, a cultural revolution could have happened; orchestras, festivals, and biennials could have been established, works could have been produced, and so much could have been done for education in Anatolia."

The historic Fenerbahçe congress, which millions were locked onto, was won by the incumbent president Ali Koç.

Koç, who received 16,464 votes, was elected president for the third time, while his rival, former president Aziz Yıldırım, remained at 10,483 votes.

Artist Fazıl Say criticized Ali Koç following the presidential election at Fenerbahçe.

Reminding that Ali Koç has not been able to win a single championship in 6 years, Say stated, "With that money, a cultural revolution could have happened; orchestras, festivals, and biennials could have been established, works could have been produced, and so much could have been done for education in Anatolia—in this country in such a difficult situation—instead of giving that money to those mediocre football players, the country would have soared culturally; and not just culture, but science and knowledge... Investment... He hasn't been able to win 1 championship in 6 years, and the culprit is always either the Federation, or Galatasaray, or someone else. Saudi Arabia is the culprit."

Referring to the Super Cup final that Fenerbahçe played against Galatasaray, where they took the field with their U19 team, Say said, “’We say we support you,’ then 3 days later something absurd happens again, the team withdraws from the Super Cup final, he says 'I will withdraw from the league,' he says 'As long as I am here we cannot be champions, I won't be a candidate again'...”

"THE EMPIRE HAS CHOSEN THE 'EMPEROR' AGAIN"

Say added this note to the end of his post:

“The 'Empire' has chosen the 'Emperor' again. It had become 6-0 in 6 years... Carry on then…”
