Maintenance and repair work has begun at the Central Bazaar Mosque in the Akçadağ district of Malatya, which was closed to worship after sustaining damage in the February 6 earthquakes.

The registered historic mosque located in the Akçadağ district of Malatya, which opened for worship in 1960, was closed to worship after sustaining damage in the February 6 earthquakes.

While work has been initiated to restore the historic mosque, whose minaret was also destroyed, and reopen it for worship, maintenance and repair work has begun at the mosque following the completion of the tender process.

The historic mosque is expected to be reopened for worship once the work is completed.
