The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has launched a new regulation for restaurants and cafes to ensure consumers make more informed choices. From now on, both digital and printed menus will clearly state the content and calorie information of the food and beverages offered.
In accordance with the food labeling guide updated by the Ministry, menus will be required to include product ingredients, calorie values, allergens, as well as information on alcohol or substances derived from pork. Furthermore, this information will be presented on menus in a way that is easily accessible to customers. The practice will apply to digital menus with QR codes just as it does to physical menus.
A phased schedule has been set for all restaurant chains and branches to prepare menus compliant with the regulation. Large restaurant chains operating nationwide will be required to transition to the new regulation by July 1, 2026. Businesses with three or more branches in the same city will be required to make their menus compliant by December 31, 2026.

For content information in other businesses: By December 31, 2026
For calorie information in other businesses: By December 31, 2027
