Famous model Deniz Akkaya had shared a photo of Haluk Levent, the founder of the AHBAP Association, with Sezgin Baran Korkmaz, who is being tried for money laundering in the USA, and made various allegations. Akkaya had accused Levent of being a fraudster.

Levent, who opposed Akkaya's accusations and demanded that the claims be proven, filed a criminal complaint. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Deniz Akkaya for the crimes of insulting and degrading public institutions and organizations, publicly disseminating misleading information, threats, and slander.

As a result of the investigation, a decision of non-prosecution was issued.

'THEY TRIED TO DISCREDIT ME'

Deniz Akkaya spoke to 12punto for the first time following the non-prosecution decision.

Akkaya continued the controversy by stating, "Is someone who has previously been involved in 'fraud and bounced check' crimes so much on the agenda and popular just because they sang the Izmir March? They are officially trying to create a hero. If a hero is to be created, that hero needs to be squeaky clean. During this process, some people tried to discredit me."
