Ela Rumeysa Cebeci released under house arrest

Broadcaster Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, who was arrested as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been released on the condition of 'house arrest'.

Broadcaster Ela Rümeysa Cebeci had been detained during an operation conducted in December 2025 as part of a drug investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and was subsequently released.

After giving her statement at the courthouse on December 19, 2025, Cebeci was arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace to which she was referred on charges of 'facilitating the use of narcotic substances' in light of additional evidence against her. Cebeci, who had been in custody, was released 4 months later on the condition of 'house arrest'.
