Renowned theater and television actor Emre Kınay has responded to criticism directed at comedian Gökhan Ünver, who is scheduled to perform at Duru Tiyatro, which Kınay founded. Addressing calls to cancel Ünver's shows scheduled for April 10 and 29 at Duru Tiyatro, Kınay said, 'The stance and line of Duru Tiyatro are clear. My own position is also clear. We are working to avoid trial by media, and rest assured that we will act with a sense of public responsibility.'

Comedian Gökhan Ünver, who gained a large following through content shared on social media and has recently been performing stand-up shows, became the target of criticism for failing to make any statement regarding the operations, detentions, and arrests involving the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).

Ünver has lost approximately 300 thousand followers on Instagram recently and has decided to deactivate his X account.

In response to the criticism, Ünver shared a video mocking himself. In the video posted on his Instagram account, Gökhan Ünver placed screenshots of boycott messages directed at him in the background and added the note, 'My mental state while thinking about whether or not to post a Happy Holidays story.'
