Enforcement shock for Apple! Failed to comply with Consumer Arbitration Committee decision, phone repaired via enforcement

Lawyer Enes Malik Saran, who wanted the malfunction in his Apple-branded phone to be repaired under warranty, applied to the Consumer Arbitration Committee after being asked to pay approximately 12 thousand TL when he went to the authorized service.

Enforcement proceedings were initiated against Apple for failing to comply with the committee's decision for a free repair. While Saran's phone was repaired after he went to the authorized service with enforcement officers, Saran's lawyer A. Üsame Ceran, who made a statement regarding the matter, said, "Ultimately, they were forced to comply with the enforcement order. This is the result of these foreign-capital technology companies viewing Turkey as a third-world country. Our advice to citizens is; do not hesitate to pursue legal action in any way, and follow it through to the end."

Enes Malik Saran's lawyer A. Üsame Ceran stated the following in his statement regarding the subject:

"My client purchased a device from Apple in December 2021, and a malfunction occurred in 2023. The device's warranty was still active, but the Apple technical service offered to repair the device for a fee, presenting my client with a cost of 12 thousand TL. However, it was clear that the device was under warranty and the claims of user error were invalid. Upon this, my client applied to the Consumer Arbitration Committee. The committee decided that the product should be repaired free of charge. Upon the failure to comply with the decision, we took action through enforcement and ensured that the phone was repaired free of charge. This process is the result of foreign-capital technology companies viewing Turkey as a third-world country. We advise citizens not to hesitate to use legal channels and to seek their rights to the end."
