Selecting the photo taken by Emin Sansar in Damascus for the newly added "Free Syria" category this year, which shows the destruction in the Eastern Ghouta region turned into ruins by the Bashar al-Assad regime and its allies, Düzyatan said, "It is a photo that truly shows the face of war. It was very impressive because it shows the devastation of war without any people in it."

The famous actor voted for the photo taken by Nurettin Boydak in the "Natural Life and Environment" category, which addresses the drought in Lake Burdur, stating, "This photo is very meaningful in terms of reminding people again, as it is a reference to our diminishing water resources."

SHAMEFUL BUT VERY IMPRESSIVE

Voting for the photo titled "Life will go on," taken by Murat Şengül in Lebanon in the "News" category, Düzyatan remarked, "A woman standing alone there, with the walls of her house destroyed, is probably shameful for all of us, but it is a very impressive shot."

Engin Altan Düzyatan also liked the photo titled "7 hills, 5 minarets, 1 tower" by İsa Terli in the "Daily Life" category.

OLYMPIC MOMENT

In the "Sports" category, selecting the photo taken by Mustafa Yalçın, which depicts national athlete Ersu Şaşma competing in the pole vault qualifiers at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Düzyatan commented, "AA photojournalists have really taken very good photos. They are excellent snapshots. There is nothing to say. This photo is also a tremendous piece of timing."
