WHO IS MESUT AKUSTA?
Mesut Akusta was born on February 22, 1964, in Konya. He attended primary school in Konya and middle school in Afyon, his mother's hometown, after his father retired. He was expelled from school while in his final year of middle school. Following his father's death in 1985, they moved to Ankara. That same year, he began performing theater on his own and spent six years in children's theater.
He attended technical drawing and theater courses at public education centers in Ankara. He was admitted to the faculty of literature and arts. In 1992, he joined the Hadi Çaman Yeditepe Players. Starting in 1993, he began taking roles in television series and films. In 1997, he performed in the play titled Cahide, written by Nezihe Araz. He appeared in musicals such as Fehim Paşa Konağı, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, and Şerefe Yirminci Yüzyıl.
Akusta survived a major accident after being involved in a traffic collision on January 14, 2011. He became widely known for his portrayal of the character "Kendal Şamverdi" in the series Karagül, which aired between 2013 and 2016.
In August 2021, he suffered a brain hemorrhage at his home in Çankaya and was hospitalized.

He married Şafak Özbir, the daughter of İdris Özbir, in 2016, and they had a child named Berfin Cano in 2017. They divorced in 2024.
