Alba Cebrian, an athlete with the Celtíberas Athletics Club, suffered a heart attack while training at the La Vall d'Uixó track in Castellón.
According to a report by Marca, Alba received CPR from a doctor until an ambulance arrived and was subsequently taken to intensive care.
The young athlete, who remained in the hospital for two days, has passed away.
The 23-year-old athlete had competed in 1,500-meter races and mountain running events.
