Fatma Girik commemorated at her graveside on the second anniversary of her passing
Fatma Girik, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema and Yeşilçam, was commemorated at her graveside in Torba, Bodrum, on the second anniversary of her death.

The commemoration ceremony for Fatma Girik was attended by Deputy Mayor Emel Çakaloğlu, representing Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras, Torba Beautification Association President Tamer Yöntem, members of the press, and the artist's relatives.
In a statement following the commemoration, Deputy Mayor Emel Çakaloğlu said, "Today, we are commemorating our very precious and valuable fellow citizen, the artist Fatma Girik, on the anniversary of her passing. We lost her mother last year; at the same time, our very valuable artists Memduh Ün and Akrep Nalan also rest here. We visited them today with respect and love, and offered our prayers. May God accept them, and may they rest in peace," she said.
The commemoration ceremony concluded after the prayers were recited.
'IF I HAD ANOTHER 78 YEARS, I WOULD GIVE THEM TO CINEMA AGAIN'
In an interview featured in Izdiham magazine before her death, Girik stated that she had lived a wonderful life, saying, "The public loved me very much, and thank God, they still do. How happy I am; the art of cinema, to which I gave my years, brought great beauty to my life. For this reason, I feel very good. If I had another 78 years, I would give them to cinema again.
Just as a child is never a source of regret, fatigue, or wasted years for a mother, cinema became my child. I experienced the most beautiful emotions, excitements, joys, and anxieties through cinema. I am glad I did so."
