Ferdi Tayfur has passed away

Renowned artist Ferdi Tayfur has passed away at the hospital in Antalya where he had been receiving treatment for some time.

The master artist was 79 years old.

Ferdi Tayfur had been hospitalized on December 15 after falling ill at his home in the Marmaris district of Muğla, where he resided.

Transferred from Muğla to Antalya on the evening of December 16, Tayfur was admitted to a private hospital and underwent surgery there.

In a video he recently released with his doctor, when asked how he was feeling, Tayfur had replied, "I am well thanks to you, I am well thanks to God, may God be pleased with you."

It had been stated that the artist previously had a stent placed in his cerebral artery during a surgery performed at a hospital in Antalya.

Ferdi Tayfur, who had been receiving dialysis treatment for a while, had also received a kidney transplant from his son in Antalya in 2020.

Artist Ferdi Tayfur, who fell ill at his home in Marmaris on December 15, was taken to a hospital in the district and subsequently transferred to Antalya. Tayfur, who had been receiving treatment since December 17, passed away this evening at the hospital where he was being treated.

WHO IS FERDİ TAYFUR?

Ferdi Tayfur, considered among the most important representatives of arabesque music in Turkey, was born in Adana on November 15, 1945.

The artist, who won a total of nine Golden Record Awards, became famous for the songs he wrote himself, which were also featured in his motion pictures.

Having produced over 30 albums and starred in more than 30 films, the artist founded his own company, Ferdifon Records, in 1982 and entered the construction sector in 2009.
