Ferzan Özpetek awarded 'best director'

Master director Ferzan Özpetek has been awarded 'best director' at the Filming Italy Venice Award, one of the cinema world's prestigious award organizations held as part of the Venice International Film Festival.

The 'best director' award at the Filming Italy Venice Award, one of the cinema world's prestigious award organizations held as part of the Venice International Film Festival, has been presented to master director Ferzan Özpetek.

At the ceremony held in Venice on August 31, organized by the film magazine Ciak and artistic director Tiziana Rocca, the award was presented to the master director by Venice Film Festival Director Alberto Barbera.

In her speech at the ceremony, Tiziana Rocca said, “I am honored to present this award to Ferzan Özpetek for his passion for cinema and his outstanding work. Ferzan is an artist who touches the deepest points of the human soul with his stories. With his poetic style, he has created an original and unique cinematic language by bringing together Italian culture and his Turkish roots.”
