The Turkish Musical Work Owners Professional Union (MESAM) organized a memorial service for Ali Özütemiz, known as Kıvırcık Ali, at the Esenyurt Gülbahçe Cemetery. The ceremony was attended by MESAM President Recep Ergül and members of the MESAM Board of Directors, as well as the artist's children, Eren and Ceren Özütemiz, and his fans.

'HE WAS A PURE PERSON'

Stating that Kıvırcık Ali created immortal works that will be sung for centuries, MESAM President Ergül said in his statement, "Ali was, above all, a person whose essence and words were as pure as his surname (Özütemiz). He established a throne in our hearts with his virtuous, moral, unifying, and humble personality."

Ergül noted that bards are immortal, adding, "He continues to be a guide to our joys and our sorrows. We miss his smiling face and his affection very much. He was my friend and my brother. 13 years have passed since his death, but his pain is always fresh in our hearts. May his soul rest in peace."
