Funeral details for actor Hikmet Taşdemir have been announced
Master of Turkish cinema and Yeşilçam, Hikmet Taşdemir, has passed away after losing his battle with lung cancer. The funeral arrangements for Taşdemir have been finalized.

Master actor of Turkish cinema Hikmet Taşdemir has passed away at the age of 81 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment for lung cancer.
The funeral program for Taşdemir has been announced.
The master actor's funeral will be held today following the afternoon prayer (ikindi namazı) at the Piri Mehmet Paşa Mosque in Silivri, after which he will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Silivri.
He was etched into the memory of Turkish cinema with his roles as Gaddar Kerim in the film "Korkusuz Korkak", Mardinli Arif in "Umudumuz Şaban", and Cıbıl Halil in "Tatar Ramazan".
WHO IS HIKMET TAŞDEMIR?
Cinema and television actor Hikmet Taşdemir was born on February 2, 1942, in Erzurum. He worked in several theater troupes at a young age. He is one of the rare cinema artists who did not use a stage name despite being advised to do so.
He first stepped into cinema in 1971 with the film "Baba". He played supporting roles in many films. His characters, Gaddar Kerim in the film "Korkusuz Korkak" starring Kemal Sunal, Mardinli Arif in "Umudumuz Şaban", and Cıbıl Halil in "Tatar Ramazan", remained in the public memory.
Due to his stern demeanor, he played the roles of tough guys (kabadayı) in numerous films. He had been living in Silivri with his wife for over 40 years.
Remembered for the "tough guy" characters he played in Yeşilçam, actor Hikmet Taşdemir said, "I love all the actors, starting with Yılmaz Güney, Türkan Şoray, Cüneyt Arkın, Kartal Tibet, and everyone else. This job cannot be done without love."
Hikmet Taşdemir passed away in Istanbul on January 25, 2024.
