In a post on her social media account, Bozyel stated, "We were in Diyarbakır. I was 16 years old, we were in the same class at the same school. He tried to be with me by holding a gun to my head."
Bozyel also explained the reason for her silence for many years with the following words:
"Because he is a very distant relative on my father's side, I kept it hidden for years as I foresaw that a blood feud would break out. Just like many other things I kept hidden.
