The life of the legendary name of Turkish music, Barış Manço, will be brought to the big screen in a film currently in preparation. Ekin Koç, who will portray Barış Manço—etched in memory with unforgettable songs such as "Gülpembe," "Dağlar Dağlar," "Unutamadım," and "Arkadaşım Eşek"—expressed his excitement about the project with the words, "It will be a big undertaking, and there are high expectations."
Ketche (Hakan Kırvavaç) will sit in the director's chair for the film.
A detailed preparation process is underway for the film, which is planned to begin shooting in June 2025.
Ekin Koç stated that they are working intensively with the team to reflect Manço's life in the best possible way. "We have met with Manço's relatives, and we will continue to do so. We are currently collecting inventory. We are working on archives, and I will be receiving vocal coaching and musical training," said Koç, expressing that he is preparing for the project with all his energy.

Most recently appearing on screens in the series "Taş Kağıt Makas," Ekin Koç is known for his interest in music as well as his acting. Koç, who performed on stage with the group "DayOff Kolektif," which he formed with Samed Nalbant in 2022, plays the guitar and sings.

Barış Manço, who passed away at the age of 56 on February 1, 1999, following a heart attack, is considered one of the pioneers of rock music in Turkey.
The artist, who traveled the world with the television programs he produced and won the affection of millions, was awarded the title of State Artist of the Republic of Turkey in 1991.
