Football rivalry tears married couple apart: Kadir leaves home

A married couple who appeared on a television program found themselves divided by the football clubs they support.

A striking incident took place on the program 'Zahide Yetiş ile Yeniden Başlamak' broadcast on STAR TV.

Kadir and Merve, who have been married for 10 years, participated in the program. While Merve came to the studio, her husband Kadir joined the live broadcast via telephone.

According to the claims, the crisis between the couple erupted after the Fenerbahçe – Kayserispor match, which ended in a 3-3 draw in recent weeks. Merve, a Galatasaray fan, mocked her Fenerbahçe-supporting husband Kadir on social media after the match and sent a message to Galatasaray star Mauro Icardi.

Unable to tolerate his wife's behavior any longer, Kadir left the house.

Joining the live broadcast by phone, Kadir explained what he had been through to Zahide Yetiş and shared with the audience why he had left home.

'LOOK, OUR 5TH STAR'

Kadir, a Fenerbahçe fan who connected to the program, said, 'My wife is constantly trying to belittle me and make me feel passive. She says, "We are champions again this year, we will attach the 4th star..."' while his wife Merve pointed to the star on the crown she was wearing and said, 'Look, our 5th star.'

'WE CAN'T EVEN EAT A PROPER MEAL'

Zahide Yetiş did her best to reconcile the couple in the studio. However, Kadir was not very warm to the idea of a reconciliation.

'I don't want it, you can see it yourselves anyway. She is still the same, nothing has changed. She says she misses me, but her behavior is different. The issue is not just the teams we support; it's her belittling me, taking me lightly... Mocking me indirectly by saying "We will be champions again this year"... We can't even eat a proper meal together anymore,' he said, expressing his feelings.
