In a declaration issued by the terrorist organization PKK, it was stated that "activities carried out under the name of PKK have been terminated." While the Turkish public agenda is focused on the PKK's self-dissolution, comments on the matter were quick to appear on social media.
Hayal Köseoğlu, who most recently starred in the series Hudutsuz Sevda, drew attention with her analysis of the subject.
"By the way, as a Circassian woman and a Sagittarius, I find the Kurdish movement incredibly dramatic. I mean, okay. Okay, you're the one. You're the most important one," said Hayal Köseoğlu, who wrote the following:
"WE GET UP AND TAKE UP ARMS..."
"They have been pestering the country for years like a friend who nags you because you didn't celebrate their birthday. Friends, forget about the country level; the biggest discrimination, the biggest genocide, the biggest assimilation, and the biggest oppression in the world is not based on nations, but on gender. The biggest problem of this world, this geography, and this country is the women's issue. If we don't get up, take up arms, and go out here and there to seek our rights, what is wrong with you? (And I am someone who also heavily criticizes the passivity of women's resistance.) I don't understand what you want at all. My e-Devlet literally says Circassia. Do I take to the streets saying 'where is my Circassia'? I swear I don't understand; you've been obsessed for years like someone fixated on an ex-lover. Go to therapy!"
"I WOULD SPIT IN YOUR FACE"
Hayal Köseoğlu's post drew backlash on social media. Film critic Zeynep Ocak reacted harshly to the actress, saying, "I would spit in your face the first time I see you."
Following her comments, which divided social media, Köseoğlu was flooded with remarks such as "You are very ignorant," "You are racist," "Hayal, I have bad news for you, you are a fascist," and "I haven't seen someone this ignorant in a long time."
