'I went down in tabloid history as the fastest of the nightlife'

Rock star Teoman, who is always in the spotlight with his songs, love life, and interesting choices, made candid confessions on Armağan Çağlayan's program and explained how he started his career.

Stating that he reached these days on his own, Teoman used the following sentences:

“I got here by buying a guitar and playing on my own. But I switched to singing, then went back to the guitar so I could compose and play in bars.

Armağan Çağlayan directed the comment, "You were the star of the tabloid journalists," to the famous singer, whose every step was once reported by the press. Teoman responded to Çağlayan with these words:

"Yes, I was a rebel. That was also a bit part of being a rock star. I loved the nightlife. At the same time, I was also hardworking. I would go out, but I would also work. Thanks to that diligence, I had a successful career. But because that diligence of mine couldn't be detected, because the tabloid journalists didn't see it, I went down in tabloid history as the 'fastest of the nightlife'."

"I SAID I WOULD NO LONGER BE THIS PERSON"

"I am now a man who goes to sleep at 11. I go out once in a blue moon. My friends don't go out at night anymore. And when there are no friends, nothing is enjoyable. These things are enjoyable with friends.

Also, I said to myself, 'how should I spend my maturity period?' I decided from the beginning to stay away from alcohol. 4 years ago, I said, 'I will no longer be this person.' Also, I wasn't aware, but alcohol is something depressive for the aftermath. People don't realize that their depression comes from alcohol."

"I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE BEING A TABLOID CELEBRITY"

When asked if he was satisfied with the fame he had, Teoman surprised everyone with his response.

The rock star, who did not hesitate to explain that he often prefers to live a life away from the public eye, answered the question as follows:

I am not someone who suddenly rose to the top. That's why I was used to it. But this used to upset me. While I was actually a hardworking person, while I wanted to do beautiful things, while I was working very hard, I was actually uncomfortable with being just that tabloid figure because I was never seen in a field I had scratched my way through with my own fingernails throughout my life.

Those were the years when everyone was double-crossing everyone. As someone who entered this business with plans to become a valuable artist, I was frankly uncomfortable with being a tabloid celebrity. You can't just blame those people. Then don't go out. I couldn't do that either. I guess it didn't matter much to me anyway.

"I SHIFTED DOWN IN EVERY AREA OF LIFE"

Upon Teoman's striking statements, Armağan Çağlayan pressed the singer by saying, "We understand that you are not a tabloid celebrity from the fact that your concerts are sold out, so that's not the case either."

Teoman responded to this argument as follows:

"It's not. On the contrary, I am living the golden years of my life. Generation Z also loved me, and those from the past were added. I appeal to a very wide audience. I can only do about 1/3 of the concert offers made to me."

"I shifted down in every area of life. On the days I give a concert, I feel a bit restless because I have work to do at night. But an hour before the concert, it's like a button is pressed and I become the rock star Teoman again. I used to be a rock star 24 hours a day, now I am a rock star for 2 hours. Then I fold it up, put it in my pocket, and return home as the normal Teoman."
